A week before this tragedy in Poland I had been commenting that Katyn was something that needed forgiving on the part of the Polish state and people. While some people try to achieve this, others would prefer it remain another bitter excuse for why things are not right within Poland.
Sadly, while President Jaroslaw Karczynski desperately wanted Poland to be noticed on the international stage, he and many others here remain blinded to just how much attention it was receiving. On a personal level I have struggled for years to explain to people how much respect Poland has in Britain, but my words fell on dead ears for they already 'knew' the truth from school and politicians - the people of Britain did not care. Against that kind of indoctrination there is no saving.
On the up side, I fully hand drew this image and my wife supplied the translations into Polish.
